Ahoy DeAnna!
Welcome to the Moms Panel! Your November sailing on the Disney Fantasy will be here before know it, and if you think your kids are excited now, just wait until they see this beauty in person! They won't be able to contain themselves!
I wish I had some good news for you, but Disney does not have a hotel located in the Cape Canaveral area. If you want to begin your trip with a little Disney magic then you will need to stay over at the Walt Disney World Resort. I'm not sure whether you are driving or flying, but it is about an hour or so drive depending on traffic. Check-in times don't start at the cruise terminal until 11:00am so it is possible to stay in the Orlando area and make it over to the Disney Cruise Line terminal without feeling rushed.
Ground transportation from the Walt Disney World Resort is offered through Disney Cruise Line if you are flying to Florida.
If you aren't interested in staying at the Walt Disney World Resort, there are several hotels close by the port. I have personally stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott and enjoy their spacious rooms and free breakfast. They also offer a shuttle for a nominal fee if you would like to leave your car at the hotel. There are other hotels in the area including the Country Inn and Suites that you may consider. On several occasions we have taken our big Mickey hands and headed over to the Jetty Park where the cruise ships sail away so we can wave bon voyage to other cruise passengers Disney style! My kids always love this tradition!
I hope these suggestions help, DeAnna! Please write back if you need further assistance!
Happy Planning!
Nancy
