Hi Cara,
I hope you're counting down the days until the magic and fun begin because you're about to experience
springtime at Walt Disney World Resort! SO exciting!
Under the
phased reopening, things do feel a little bit different, but I'm happy to let you know that the magic is very much still alive and ready for YOU! Actually, you've touched on two of these changes in your question. One is that Extra Magic Hours are no longer available. In fact, it was announced earlier this year that they won't be returning, but instead, Guests staying in the magic with
Disney Resorts Collection will be able to access each of the four theme parks 30 minutes early every single morning. While this
early theme park entry hasn't started quite yet, it will begin sometime later this year. Definitely keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog in case anything else is announced prior to your visit!
Another change that has happened since the reopening is that
Disney Park Pass reservations are now required for all Guests to enter a theme park. In an effort to keep all Guests and Cast Members safe, capacity limitations have been put in place to allow for physical distancing within the parks, and the Disney Park Pass system is how that's all managed. While it's always possible that either capacity could change or Guests' plans could change, opening up
availability on the calendar, I wouldn't plan on that. I'd go ahead and make your reservations now, but keep an eye on things in case you want to make any changes closer to the time of your visit.
Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Cara, and please feel free to come back and see us again if we can help with anything else as you're thinking through the details of your visit. I hope you have a truly magical vacation!
