Hello I am trying to figure out if a dining plan is the best way to go for my Disney trip next month for a group of 9. What is the avg. cost of a sit-down meal for both adults & children? What is the average price of a snack and quick meal (non wait

    Hi Courtney,

There well over 100 restaurants at Disney World, with offerings ranging from a quick cup of soup (about $4.00) to an elaborate gourmet seven course dinner in a Chef's Kitchen with a fine wine pairing (about $300). Even among standard restaurants, it's a bit difficult to give an average food price because much will depend on your appetite and dining habits.

But no worries, detailed Disney food pricing is readily available online. My suggestion is to go to the independent website AllEars.net. Click on the "Walt Disney World" menu near the top left of the home page. Scroll down to "Dining" and then click "The Menus." You'll find here a complete menu with pricing for nearly every Disney restaurant. Take a look at the pricing for some of the restaurants (table service and quick service) that appeal to you and you'll be able to get the best sense of your possible expense.

If you're thinking about the Dining Plan, also remember that there are some restrictions. For example, on the standard Dining Plan, you get a dessert with lunch and dinner, but no appetizer. If you're not a sweet eater, this might not be the right mix of food for you.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
