Welcome aboard, Amber! I took my son on a Mommy-Son sailing with Disney Cruise Line when he was five years old too! Most of the time, we sail with our whole family, but this was a cruise just for the two of us, and it was so special! I loved having all that one-on-one time with my little man!
There are so many activities onboard for both of you to enjoy together. Nightly Broadway-style shows with his favorite Disney friends, Character Greetings, crafts, family game shows, Disney movies in the theatre and on the pool deck on FunnelVision, variety acts, and so much more! Your son may want to check out the
Youth Clubs. Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are the two spots onboard for his age, and he can participate in the super fun events with the counselors there. My kids love building volcanos (and exploding them of course!), Pluto's Pajama Party, Toy Story Boot Camp, Marvel Superhero fun, and lots of other activities that take place all day and night. Most of this is during secured programming time when parents drop their kids off, but each day, the clubs also host Open House hours when parents get to stay and play with their kids!
When your son wants to be in the clubs, there are plenty of
Adult Exclusive activities for you, from adult variety shows and game shows, to the adult venues and clubs, the Quiet Cove pool, Cove Cafe coffee shop for adults, Art of the Theme Show Tours of the ship, and lots of other daily activities. Check your Personal Navigator or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App to keep up with the day's events!
If you're on a seven night or longer sailing, you'll be able to enjoy a Character Dining breakfast. But on shorter sailings, your favorite Disney friends are around the ship all the time to meet with guests for photos! Have a great cruise!
