Hot Diggity Dog, Jennifer! I'm proud of you for taking the plunge and deciding to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon in 2020
. It may be your first, but I can promise it won't be your last!
I've participated in
Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend the past few years, and my husband rolled his eyes when I told him that I've already booked my room at
Disney's Contemporary Resort for 2020! I prefer to stay here because it is walking distance to Magic Kingdom Park, and Half Marathon participants can take monorail transportation to and from the race, which is very convenient. One year I stayed at
Disney's Beach Club Resort, and I loved that I could walk through Epcot's International Gateway to my resort, although you must take bus transportation to the race start (
Disney's BoardWalk Inn has a similar location on Cresent Lake). This resort also has a beautiful pool called Stormalong Bay, which it shares with Disney's Yacht Club Resort, and it was a perfect place to rest my weary feet.
If a Value or Moderate Resort is a better fit for your
runcation budget, remember that all Walt Disney World Resort hotels offer free race transportation. Any hotel on property is an excellent option for a runDisney race weekend, and there will be plenty of Disney magic no matter where you stay!
Jennifer, even though you look like a Beauty, you probably train like a Beast! Good luck, and I hope to see you running through Cinderella Castle in 2020!
