Hello, Hope! Preparing for a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth means planning for the chance of afternoon rain showers. I am glad you are thinking about how to weather the moment and stay dry.
If you have the clear ponchos with the Minnie bows and Mickey ears, similar to the ones sold in
Walt Disney World Resort, you should be fine. I have ponchos I purchased at a retail store, and I have worn them to
Magic Kingdom Park without issue. They do not meet what I interpret as a description of a costume in the
dress code guidelines. I think they are as cute as can be, but no one mistook me as my favorite mouse or asked for a photo with me (not even my kids. Teenage boys!). Minnie is the queen of style, always adorning a fashionable find from her favorite bow-tiques. Unlike princesses and other Disney characters, it takes a little more work and costuming to match the magic of our beloved Mickey and Minnie.
It won't be long before we are packing our ponchos for the chance of rain AND to go down the falls on
Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I am so excited about the opening of this attraction! On my last visit to the Magic Kingdom, they were testing the ride and I couldn't help but sing
Almost There.
I hope your visit to Walt Disney World Resort is full of sunshine and pixie dust. Please drop back by
planDisney with any other questions. We are here to shower you with information and ideas.
Stay cool!
Jana
