Hi there, Qianna, and welcome to planDisney!
I love seeing fellow Magic Key Holders here. I hope you've enjoyed your full year of benefits from having that
Magic Key Pass! I've had mine ever since the program first started and have been really happy with all the perks that we're given.
I've gone through multiple renewals in my time as a Magic Key Holder. It's true that for new Magic Key purchases, the Pass is not activated until its first use and then will be good for a full year from that date. However, when you renew your Magic Key, the new Pass is active immediately after the old Pass expires and so your expiration date stays approximately the same. Therefore, the expiration date listed on your
Disneyland Mobile App is likely correct. I'm sorry for the less than ideal news. If you would like to speak to a Cast Member, I would recommend calling the
Magic Key Holders phone line and I'm sure they would be able to clarify further.
You are allowed to hold multiple Magic Keys under your account, so I have known some Guests who, if they know that there will be a significant amount of time before their next visit, choose to purchase an entirely new Magic Key Pass as opposed to renewing their current Pass so they may select a new expiration date.
I certainly hope that you are able to return to the Disneyland Resort in 2025 because they're giving us plenty of reasons to go back. Disney released the full
schedule of events for the upcoming year but I'm particularly excited about the
70th Anniversary Celebration that's starting on May 16, 2025!
Qianna, thanks again for stopping by and it was a pleasure to see another Magic Key Holder. Please feel free to write back if you have more questions. You're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
