Hi Tracey! Welcome to planDisney, and for your question!
From all of us at planDisney, thank you for your family's service! I purchased Disney Military Salute tickets a few weeks ago too, and the new process of adding them to My Disney Experience was fairly simple! Here's how you add them:
- Open up your MyDisney account on your computer. Select "My Plans", and go to the blue ticket icon that says "Park Tickets". Hover over the icon, and select "Link Tickets".
- In the email you received from MWR, the Disney Reservation # is what you will use to type in the "ID Number" section. It will then ask you to link your tickets to whoever is traveling with you. Follow the steps until everyone in your group is linked!
I had trouble linking one of my tickets to myself, so I called the
Existing Tickets line, and the Cast Member on the phone was able to locate my ticket and get it linked. If you need further assistance, they are wonderful! Now, once your tickets are linked, be sure to make
Theme Park Reservations, these tickets still require them!
In the past, you would need to bring the green Exchange Certificates you purchased at the MWR office, so if you were given a paper receipt with the ticket barcodes, bring this and your military ID to "activate" the tickets once you arrive. Keep the email you received with the tickets too, just in case! This step can be done at any of the Guest Relations booths outside of the theme parks, or at Disney Springs. I like to activate tickets at the
Disney Springs location the day before my first park date. It's quicker, and gives me a reason to stop by
Gideon's Bakehouse and pick up some chocolate chip cookies to enjoy during my vacation!
Tracey, I hope all of this information was helpful! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. If you need additional help planning your visit, send questions to
me anytime!
Happy Planning!
