Bright Suns, Gary, and welcome to planDisney! Building my own custom droid was such a fun experience, and it’s one of my favorite Disney souvenirs. It sounds like your astromech unit is well-loved, so let’s figure out how to get your droid ready for its next mission!
Assuming you don’t have any local Jawas to trade with, I do have a couple of more practical solutions to share. I chatted with a Cast Member, and they recommended contacting
Merchandise Guest Services with details on when you purchased your droid and what pieces you need. They’ll be able to discuss any options for replacing your BB unit’s body.
If they’re not able to help, you might want to check websites that sell secondhand items. I’ve sometimes seen
Droid Depot pieces pop up on those kinds of websites.
While you’re waiting for your next Disney trip, there are two apps you can download if you'd like to bring some of the magic home!
First is the
Droid Depot app, which lets you control your astromech unit from your phone and is a great backup in case you lose the original remote. I also loved using this app to play a game of tic-tac-toe with my droid!
Another fun download is the
Play Disney Parks app, where you can test your Disney Parks knowledge and play games themed after different attractions, like Toy Story Midway Mania! Playset Party. When you go into the Play Disney Parks, scroll through the icons at the top until you see Anytime Play. Those are all of the games you can play at home. You can also launch
Star Wars: Datapad in the Hollywood Studios section. While most of the functions won’t work from home, you can use the Translate feature under Tools from anywhere. It’s a great way to work on your Aurebesh skills so you're ready for your next visit to Batuu!
I’m wishing on a star that your droid is back in action very soon! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
