Hello, I know that the dining plans last until midnight on the day you check out of your hotel. But when does the dining plan take effect? Is it midnight on the day you check in? Thanks.

Hi, Steven! The Disney Dining Plans make my job as a mom so easy during our Walt Disney World Resort vacations! I don't have to worry a bit about cooking dinner or even cleaning everything up afterward. We just pick out what kind of food we are craving, make a dining reservation if needed, and head off on a delicious adventure. There are so many choices across the Resort - everything from comfort food favorites, ethnic cuisines, and lots of theme park must-tries. Anyone up for a Dole Whip Float or churro?

You are correct, you will be able to use your Disney Dining Plan entitlements until midnight on the day you check out of your Resort hotel. I recently met with a Disney Dining representative and asked the very question you brought to us today. I was told that the Disney Dining Plan entitlements become effective at 7:00 a.m. the morning guests check in at their Resort hotel. The key to making sure this works is completing Online Check-In prior to your arrival. During Online Check-In, you will need to provide a payment source to be stored for any purchases charged to your room's account as well as contact information to be used during your stay. As long as you provide this information during Online Check-In, then you can skip front desk registration and your Disney Dining Plan entitlements will be ready to use early that morning. If you do not provide the information, then you will need to stop by your resort to complete registration and your entitlements will become effective at that time.

Thanks so much for stopping by with your question and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your magical adventures!
