Hello! I booked a vacation thru Holiday Inn near Animal Kingdom and I want to explore DisneyWorld while on this vacation for the first time... I plan to buy tickets at Fort Bragg and want to know if I can use the "magic band" to simplify overall?

Hi there, JD! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Congratulations on planning your very first visit to Walt Disney World Resort! This is such an exciting endeavor, though, it can be a bit overwhelming at times. Fortunately, we are here to help with answering any questions you may have and pointing you towards the best resources for information!

Guests staying at a hotel outside of the Disney Resorts Collection are definitively able to use the majority of perks offered via MagicBand! In particular, you will have access to entering the theme parks and water parks and connecting Disney PhotoPass images to your account. MagicBands are also a great way to show off your personal style as they come in a variety of designs ranging from solid colors all the way to classic Disney characters

If you are interested in using these features without using a MagicBand, you may also do so through the My Disney Experience app! The all-new Disney MagicMobile option has just launched on Apple devices and allows you to access the exact same features of the MagicBand! Guests may use this feature by first creating their Disney MagicMobile pass through the My Disney Experience app. This includes choosing your own Disney-themed design and storing multiple passes on a single device for families. You will then need to add your Disney MagicMobile pass to the Wallet app on an iPhone or the digital wallet on other smart devices. After completing this step, all you will need to do is hold your smart device near an access point to use all of its features!

I hope this information assists you in planning your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you along the way!
