Hello fellow photography friend!
I know trip preparation is important, especially when it comes to planning how you will capture your memories. Capturing photos and video inside the Disney Parks is a passion of mine, so I am happy to help with your question! While GoPros and other action cameras are permitted at the
Disneyland Resort, please keep in mind that any actions which impact the safety of you, other guests, or cast members are not allowed. This will always be up to the cast member’s discretion and you may be asked to put your camera away.
A shorty stick/tripod is allowed inside the parks as long as it is able to fit inside a standard backpack and does not extend over 6’ (182 cm). However, please note that selfie sticks and other hand-held extension poles for cameras and mobile devices are on the
list of prohibited items for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure (DCA). Otherwise, feel free to use your camera to document your trip and relive (and share!) your memories. Also, don’t forget that Disney
PhotoPass photographers are available to help you document your adventures inside the park. You can find all of the PhotoPass locations in the Disneyland app!
If you are on the hunt for scenic spots in the parks to capture, I have a few favorites you may want to check out! First,
Pixar Pier in DCA is always full of activity and beauty. I would recommend coming to the Pier at sunset and standing facing the
Pixar-Pal-A-Round at sunset for a memorable shot. In Disneyland, you might want to head to the path just to the right of
Sleeping Beauty Castle for a unique angle of this iconic landmark. Lastly, the clock on the facade of
“it’s a small world” opens every 15 minutes to reveal a fun cavalcade of 24 animated figures. A photo or video of that moment will definitely be a highlight!
Enjoy your trip! As Sallah says in the
Indiana Jones Adventure, I am already envious of the wonders that await you!
Happy photo and video capturing!
