Are the height requirements for rides measured with or without shoes? I ask because my 4 year old is currently 39.5 inches without shoes!

When cast members are measuring a guest to see if they will make the ride height requirements, they are generally doing this with the guest's shoes ON. My own children have been measured at WDW dozens of times. They have been asked to remove hats and have even had puffy ponytails patted down, but they have never been asked to remove their shoes prior to being measured. It is possible that a cast member could ask as child wearing particularly tall shoes to remove them, but this is fairly unlikely. If your child makes the 40" cut-off while wearing regular sneakers or sandals, then he or she will probably be fine. However, bear in mind that this is at the complete discretion of the ride attendant.

    Good luck!
