Hi Heather as a fellow Kentuckian (louisville) we are going to Disney for our 4th time (honeymoon and 3 ann.) September 6-13. Is the MNSSHP worth going to as adults with no children. We have never been to this event.

I am a party fan.  Not just average get togethers, I can take or leave those, but plan a big elaborately themed event and I'll be first in line.  I love the details, the anticipation, and the creative costumes...and YES, I do dress up!  So do many, many adults - I'd say at least half of all partygoers are in a costume of some sort.  Some will be elaborate, some will be simple t-shirts, but almost everyone is festive in their own way.  I guess it's the kid in all of us coming out to play.

Aside from the fun costumes, it's your only opportunity to see the Magic Kingdom decorated for Halloween.  There is a Boo-To-You parade where the characters are all in costumes and the villains really come out to play.  There are the special Happy HalloWishes fireworks you can't see at any other time.  There are lots of great photo ops, ranging from special scenes like the Cinderella carriage and pumpkins set up to the rare opportunity to get a picture with Snow White and all seven dwarfs together.  There are two dance parties, which I thought would be mainly for kids but as it turned out there were lots of adults dancing as well.  And there are short lines for most of the rides!  Oh, and of course the candy, which is for everyone who attends the party and not just the little ones.  And free face painting!  Lots of adults get their faces painted; my husband and I always do - he was a very cute pirate last year!  :)

It's fun - a lot of fun.  If your budget allows then I think you should definitely try it at least once.  For me the special parade and fireworks alone are worth the price of admission not to mention the atmosphere.  I don't know how to describe it but there is a special feeling in the air that night that really adds to the atmosphere.  I am going to Disney solo this September for the Expedition Everest 5K race, and I fully attend to attend a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!
