I've heard about trading pins with cast members, can you tell me how we get the lanyards, and pins etc, and how this works. We'll be taking our first trip May 3rd and think this would be fun. Can you tell me more?

    Hi Michelle!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Mom Panel! I hope all of your plans for your first Walt Disney World vacation are going well.

Pin trading is such a fun way to interact with cast members and other guests. A great way to start your pin trading hobby is to visit Disney Parks Merchandise Online or the Disney Store online to order a starter pack which includes a lanyard and 2-4 pins depending on the pack you choose. There are several different varieties of starter packs to choose from such as the 2014 Walt Disney World Starter pack.

Once you are at Disney let the trading begin! There are opportunities to pin trade everywhere. Be on the lookout of other traders, guests and cast members alike, who are also wearing their lanyards. A fun tip to know when trading pins with cast members, YOU get to pick the pin you want to trade not them. How fun is that?

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions as you plan your magical Walt Disney World vacation come back and see us.

    Have a pixie-dusted day!
