Hi, I've heard Tom Sawyer's Island in MK is a great quiet place for a needed break from crowds. Are the pathways stroller accessible? Or, do parents with toddlers napping in strollers stay in a certain area? Thanks for info!

    Hi Ashley!

Tom Sawyer Island at the Magic Kingdom is indeed a hidden gem and a wonderful place to take a quiet mid-day break. When my kids were little it was the perfect place for the older kids to run off some energy while I sat in the shade to feed the baby. You’ll find spooky caves, a barrel bridge, a play area and even a fort with a secret escape tunnel! Even as an adult, I appreciate the break from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the park with a visit to Tom Sawyer Island.

Strollers will need to be parked near the dock at Tom's Landing before you can board the raft to the island, so you won’t be able to bring a stroller to the island with you. Letting the little one out to run around the island and explore the tunnels with you might be just the ticket to a good snooze back on the mainland. If your little one has fallen asleep in their stroller, a good place to take a break can be found under the train tracks near the exit of Splash Mountain. You'll find The Laughing Place Play Area there, a small and shaded play area, and usually you can find a spot for mom or dad to sit down. This is also a great meeting location, or a place to wait if you will be using the Rider Switch system for Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

I hope this helps with your planning, Ashley. Please let us know what other questions you have as you get ready for your trip.

    Happy Planning!
