I heard all about taking a nap or a rest while there with the young kids but what about the first day you arrive and you can't check in to the Resort until after 3 what do you do?

    Hi Mary,

It is important to allow time for naps or afternoon breaks for kids and adults. The Florida sun and park crowds can be quite tiring and to keep everyone refreshed and happy, it is a great idea to keep to your child's nap schedule as best as possible. Now if you have kids like mine, who refused to nap even as toddlers, then often it is not the nap that is important but just time away from the parks, lines and heat, for example a dip in the resort pool.

On your arrival day, your room may not be ready until later in the afternoon. You may ask for an available room if you have a sleepy child, but there is no guarantee. There are plenty of chairs and sofas in the resort's lobby that you are welcome to relax on and are quite comfy for a child's nap. If you are headed into a park upon your arrival, there are baby care centers at each park that have a nice lounge area where you could relax with a napping child. My boys have also napped on lounge chairs by our resort pool.

You did not mention the child's age or your arrival time, but I have also found that my kids often nap on the plane or the bus ride to Disney World and are ready to go once we reach the resort. You may want to encourage this approach as I'm sure you will all be excited and ready to explore once you arriveĀ and would prefer to not have to nap at that time.

Hopefully one of these options will work for your children too. Have a fantastic time!
