    i heard somewhere that 2009 is animal kingdom's 10th b-day. is this true and are they planning any special activities.

    You're a bit off on this one. The Animal Kingdom actually opened it's gates on April 22, 1998. That means that the 10th anniversary was celebrated several months ago. There were some special ceremonies that occurred at that time. To read more about this, go to the independent website allearsnet.com.
