Have heard of the smores making at the resorts. Any chance vegetarian marshmallows are available? If not, this would be a great suggestion for the park. Regular marshmallows have high levels of gelatin, which isn't vegetarian.

Hi, Angela! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

There’s nothing quite like roasting s’mores during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! As vegetarians and vegans, though, my family has always taken our own marshmallows with us to participate in the activity. We typically pick up a bag of gelatin-free jumbo marshmallows before leaving home and put a few in a reusable sandwich bag before heading out for “s’more” fun after spending a day in the Theme Parks.

Our two favorite locations for roasting marshmallows are the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we also love sitting on the beach and watching the Electrical Water Pageant as it glides across the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Happily Ever After fireworks as they light up the sky over Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park.

While Walt Disney World Resort chefs have been adding a lot of new plant-based options for vegetarians and vegans at various restaurants in the Theme Parks, Water Parks and Resort hotels, we will have to wait a little longer before items like gelatin-free marshmallows make their way to the fireside. In the meantime, though, we can still enjoy the activity by bringing our own!

    Best wishes,

    Amy
