    I heard a rumor that Space Mountain will be undergoing rennovations this year. If I'm visiting in May 2009, will this attraction be open?

    Hi Brian,

    Space Mountain is scheduled to undergo a pretty extensive refurbishment during 2009. Disney just announced that the ride is scheduled to close on April 19, 2009 to begin the refurbishment. There is no official word on how long the ride will be closed, but it is thought that the changes will take several months. According to news reports the changes will include track modifications, a new ceiling and enclosures around the queue area.

    Ride closures are always subject to change, but it looks like Space Mountain will be a "no go for launch" when you arrive in May. This just means you will need to hurry back for another visit once the ride re-opens later this year.
