Hi there, Kristy!
I see that you’re planning to spend the
most wonderful time of the year in The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I think you’ll love letting the good times roll at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter! Its compact size, authentic theming, and picturesque location on the Sassagoula River are all reasons it’s one of my very favorite Disney Resort hotels. I actually just returned from a stay in one of Port Orleans’ renovated rooms, so it’s a
practically perfect time for me to answer your question, Kristy!
I’m happy to confirm that all of the rooms at Port Orleans - French Quarter will be refurbished — and yes, this includes
King Rooms! I was fortunate enough to stay in one of the refurbished King Rooms, and I adored the elegant color palette, updated features, and subtle Princess and the Frog-inspired touches. At the time of this writing, Buildings 1 through 4 have completed their refurbishment, and Building 5 is unavailable to Guests as its refurbishment is currently in-progress. Since the estimated completion of the Resort’s refurbishment is Spring 2025, I feel confident that you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a stay in one of these beautiful rooms during your vacation.
If you’re not hoping to stay in a River View Room, I recommend requesting a room in Building 4. Its convenient location close to the Resort’s lobby and quick-service location,
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, is ideal for quick refills of your Resort-Refillable Mug, and there’s even a shortcut to the Bus Stop through the building’s neighboring parking lot. Even though Port Orleans - French Quarter is one of the smallest Disney Resort hotels, I’m all about saving my steps at Walt Disney World whenever possible so that my feet are well-rested to scurry between attractions and character hugs in the theme parks, and when you hang your mouse ears in Building 4…you’re always
almost there!
I hope this helps, Kristy, and that you love your stay in the French Quarter! If any additional questions arise as you continue to plan, feel free to
stop back by. I’m always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
