i heard that the restaurants are all closed down at AK is this true?

Hello again, Steve! Welcome back to planDisney! We really appreciate you reaching out and allowing us to help you once more with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning needs!

Dining is one of my own family’s top priorities when visiting Walt Disney World Resort! Besides being a necessity, we love finding some of the most scrumptious cuisines wherever we travel and Walt Disney World Resort definitively has a multitude of delectable locations to choose from!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village has some of the most talked about dining locations with Sanaa. This pan-African inspired restaurant allows Guests to journey across the continent by experiencing the beauty and flavors of various native cuisines while also viewing some of the local wildlife right from their tables! Sanaa is now open for Breakfast with no reservation required and lunch and dinner with reservations. After dining at Sanaa with my own family, I cannot recommend this location enough!

If you are in a need of a counter service meal, you can visit The Mara for all your grab-and-go needs. This dining location is just a quick ride over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and offers adventurous African-inspired meals as well as standard American fare for those that would like something a bit more familiar.

Since Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is currently closed for reservations, there are a few dining locations that are unavailable at this time such as Boma - Flavors of Africa and Jiko - The Cooking Place. While these locations are closed, it does present a perfect opportunity to sample other dining locations you may not have tried previously! My family and I had this experience during a recent trip and were so pleased that we gave Sanaa a chance! Even if it wasn’t one of our “go-to” dining locations, it was still a wonderful treat and quickly became one of our family favorites!

Thanks again for asking such wonderful questions! Please let us know if we can assist with planning any other portions of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
