I have heard it is possible, and often economical, to rent points for DVC villa instead of booking thru Disney.Have family of 5. Can it cost less to do this than stay at POR or Poly for a week?Is this a complicated process? Have any of you tried this?

Hi, Leslie!  Disney Vacation Club owners are not permitted by contract to "rent" their points to other people.  I know that some people do, and you will see advertisements on various websites from owners who rent their points for as little as $8 per point, which would make for a very economical way to enjoy a DVC villa at any of the DVC properties.

Because the owners are not permitted to rent their points out, there is no safety net for you if your deal goes wrong.  Nothing can be done by Walt Disney World or Disney Vacation Club if you arrive for your vacation and find out that you are not booked, your accommodations are not as you had expected, or whatever else might go wrong.

Whatever you decide to do, please be careful!  You don't want your plans for an absolutely magical vacation to be ruined if something goes wrong!
