I have heard about people leaving little gifts on cabin doors- can someone tell me more about this?

Welcome aboard, Alison! Sailing with Disney is a gift in itself, but there are so many extra magical moments that take place onboard. Everything from the fabulous Broadway-style shows to the family game shows, Youth Clubs, Deck Parties, fabulous dining, pool deck fun and so much more will create amazing memories for your whole family!

Some guests add even more magic to their already magical cruise by meeting up on online Disney fan forums before sailing to get to know others on the same cruise. These are not organized or sponsored by Disney Cruise Line, but organized by guests themselves who happen to meet up online first. One of the most popular Disney fan forums is Disboards.com. If you log onto that website, scroll down on the home page to the Disney Cruise Line Forum, then Disney Cruise Line Meets. Click through to find your exact ship and sail date, and then you can begin chatting with fellow cruisers on your sailing. You'll be able to find out there if they've organized a Fish Extender Gift Exchange for your group onboard.

Why is it called a Fish Extender Exchange? Outside each of the stateroom doors in the ships' hallways is a clip that Cast Members can leave notices for guests on so they'll see it when they return to their stateroom. These clips are shaped like fish, seahorses or starfish, and guests will hang pockets from the fish clip, thus extending the fish. The pockets are there for others in their Fish Extender Exchange group to leave little gifts each day, like a Secret Santa-type exchange. If you do a Google search of Fish Extenders, you'll see photos of some that guests have created for their cruise. Each group seems to create their own rules and deadlines for the exchange, so you'll want to log onto the forum site to see what's going on for your sailing!
    Have fun, Alison!
