I have heard that the opening show at Animal Kingdom has been discontinued. Can you confirm if there is still an opening show at Animal Kingdom?

Hi Sherryl! Animal Kingdom Park is such an amazing theme park.  Only here can one visit the "Savannah", enjoy "camping" with Mickey and Minnie, and escape from a Yeti on Mount Everest all in one day!  Animal Kingdom used to have a wonderful rope drop ceremony, "Let The Adventure Begin", complete with Mickey and Friends riding on a safari vehicle, and in safari gear, waving and greeting all the morning guests.  There was a "Family of the Day" chosen, who would help count down to the opening of AK.  Unfortunately, they have done away with the ceremony as of late 2011.  No official word as to why, nor if this is permanent, but for the time being there is only a literal rope drop. Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation! -Malanie

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
