I heard there is a nighttime show starting at Hollywood Studios. Is it a fireworks show? Is it scary for my grandsons?

    Hiya Elaine,

Welcome back to planDisney. Oh boy! Not to much longer until you are on your way to Walt Disney World Resort. What a great way to ring in the new year, by spending time with your family at Disney World.

It sounds like you may have heard the recent announcement regarding the return of Fantasmic! Fantasmic is a nighttime performance at Disney's Hollywood Studios' amphitheater. The show features fireworks, lasers, water effects, live actors, music and more. The theme of the show is centered around a slumbering Mickey Mouse and his dreams that turn to a nightmare when the Disney Villains appear. No worries however as many of the beloved Disney characters are on hand to help save the day. While the show can be loud at times and does feature a variety of flashes and bangs, it is also full of lively music, dancing water and  plenty of fun effects to keep everyone cheering on Mickey and his pals.

The show had been temporarily suspended but just recently announced it would be returning in November. While it is possible that some children may be startled by the occasional noise or bang, my boys have loved it from an early age and I have rarely seen anyone have to leave with an upset child. The good news is the show is held outside and Cast Members would easily be able to help you exit should he become frightened. The exact return date has not been announced yet, but I expect it to be running by the time you visit. The Disney Parks Blog will be sure to share the exact return date as soon as it is announced. I suspect that the crowds will be quite large as many Guests have anxiously been waiting for it to return. Therefore, I would be sure to arrive about 60-90 minutes before the show time in order to grab a seat.

I hope you love the show as mush as we do! If I can help with any additional planning questions, please stop back and see me

Hope to see ya real soon,
    Margaret
