I have heard that you need to place your luggage outside your stateroom between 8:00-10:00 pm on the last night of your cruise. How do we go about this if we are doing the late dining and will be at dinner during that time?

    Ahoy there, Heather!

Welcome to planDisney! I'm glad you stopped by with your question. I had the same question on my first sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line, so let's get to it!

You may opt to place your luggage outside your stateroom on the last night of your cruise between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. for delivery to the arrival terminal on the morning of disembarkation. You will receive special luggage tags (with adorable Characters on them) in your stateroom that you will place on your bags before leaving them in the hallway. Then, in the morning, groups will be called by the Character on the tags when your bags are ready for retrieval. At that time, you can disembark the ship.

If you choose this way of handling your luggage, remember to pack a carry-on bag for items you plan to use (such as toiletries, pajamas, and your clothes from the evening before) between the time your luggage is packed and when you retrieve your bags in the morning. Many Guests place their bags out before heading to dinner. If you want to change your clothes after dinner before placing your luggage out for pick-up, you should have time after dinner for a quick change before placing them out.  Getting around the ship is easy, so it won't take long for you to head back to your room.

I typically don't travel with a large suitcase, so I usually opt for Express Walk-Off, which allows you to take your luggage with you to breakfast in the rotational dining venue you enjoyed the previous evening. The express option also allows you to disembark as soon as the ship is cleared by port authorities that morning if you would like to grab a quick breakfast and head off the ship early. Keep in mind that all Guests are asked to vacate their staterooms at 8:00 a.m. whichever luggage option you choose.

Heather, you will find lots of helpful information about disembarkation day and much more in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, so don't forget to download it before your trip. Please sail by any time with other questions; we are thrilled to help!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
