I heard that Mickey Mouse talks at Town Square Theatre in the Magic Kingdom ... is that true?

    Hi Angie,

    Yes, this is true!

Mickey greets guests at many locations at Walt Disney World. In most spots, he simply "talks" using hugs, mime, and body language. But as of a few months ago, Mickey has been given real talking capability when he appears at Town Square in the Magic Kingdom. He can say many things, his eyes blink, and his mouth moves.

I have to admit that I find this to be both cool and frightening in equal measure. Most folks I've spoken with say that it does take a few minutes to get used to Mickey's new capabilities, but once you've acclimated it's pretty neat. Please be aware that talking Mickey might be more intimidating for very small children, so if you have those in your party, you might want to start off by meeting elsewhere in the parks.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
