I've heard a lot about rope drops. How do you get to them?

    Hi Veronica!

My husband and I love "rope-dropping" at all of the theme parks because it really helps maximize your time in the parks!  On our last Walt Disney World Resort vacation, we were able to "rope-drop" at Disney's Animal Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours, ride the rides in Pandora - The World of Avatar, and then drive over to Epcot to "rope-drop" there too--all in one morning!  Although I don't suggest trying to do that, arriving at a park before it opens gives you a head start over many other guests to get to some of the more popular attractions once the rope actually drops!  It's amazing what you can do in those first few minutes of a park being open!

Although we usually drive our own car and park at the theme parks, there are plenty of options for guests who don't want to drive themselves!  Complimentary resort transportation from the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels to the theme parks generally begins running about 45 minutes before the park opens, which should get you there before the official rope drop.  If you decide to take advantage of resort transportation to get you to the parks, remember to plan ahead.  You will want to allow plenty of time to catch a bus, boat, or Monorail to make sure you arrive before the park opens, and never forget that Cast Members are always happy to help you plan!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
