I’ve heard a lot about proposal bans in the parks resulting in a Lifetime ban from Disney. Are you allowed to propose in the parks without purchasing a proposal package?? For example, proposing at dinner at one of the park restaurants??

Well hello there Gabbie, I'd like to wish you a warm welcome to planDisney!

As someone who's personally had a surprise engagement at Walt Disney World Resort that ended up becoming a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding this year, I can say without a doubt that proposals are most certainly not banned from Disney Parks and Resorts around the world, nor are any couples receiving so-called lifetime bans for popping the question. I spend a lot of time in the Theme Parks a planDisney Panelist researching and observing guests and Cast Members alike and have personally witnessed my share of proposals happening in all kinds of locations at Disney Destinations around the world throughout the year!

I've actually come across this rumor myself online, which is the direct result of a source that describes itself as "100% Fake" and admits on their website that they create made-up articles and videos shared on social media that tends to spread among less-discerning folks. I always recommend confirming with official sources whether it's Disney Cast Members directly or online resources like the Disney Parks Blog. In fact, when you reach out to Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons team directly here in the United States they will confirm that there aren't any proposal packages that are required nor even available for purchase at the present time; they also let me know that while they currently do not assist couples in planning or coordinating their engagements they can provide some recommendations for moments and experiences that would set the stage perfectly to pop the question at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort or on board the Disney Cruise Line fleet!

You might be interested to discover that while I was planning my own proposal, the international Disney Destinations did in fact have offerings available to help plan engagements at places like Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. If there's anything that is always wonderful to witness, it's couples booking Capture Your Moment sessions as a way to make sure they have photos celebrating their engagement within the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks. (This is also one of those offerings that I recommend to so many couples where purchasing Memory Maker is something I found to be very worthwhile!)

Rest assured, if you or someone you know is looking to get down on one knee at a dining location it is always best to let the Cast Members know since it occurs so very often throughout the year with so many couples looking to reach out and find their Happily Ever After. Feel free to come back to planDisney again in case there are any other rumors floating around for us to debunk or for more of my Disney engagement and wedding advice, tips and tricks!

Wishing you all the best on saying "Yes" at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
