Greetings, Jennifer!
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing such a wonderful question to us! As a child of the 80's, I loved the Guardians of the Galaxy movie trilogy. There were so many callbacks and references to my childhood that a huge smile breaks out on my face whenever I watch anything from that universe (and that includes the Holiday Special).
Oh boy, are you in for a treat with Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! You've signed on for a VIP tour of the Tivan Collection until Rocket Raccoon enters and enlists your help in freeing the Guardians of the Galaxy from their prisons! If you are a Marvel fan, this queue is absolutely worth experiencing even if you have to skip the actual ride. I'm happy to report that there is an exit for guests who do not want to experience the ride portion of the attraction. There will be an exit immediately next to the Gantry Lifts, so just inform the Cast Member who is loading the vehicle that you'd like to exit there. You'll be able to go through the entire queue and see everything up until then, including the pre-show, which is excellent!
There are so many Disney and Marvel Easter eggs located within the attraction! See if you can spot the following:
- Cosmo the Spacedog
- an Ultron Sentry (okay, those were easy. How about these...)
- Figment (from Epcot)
- Stormbreaker
- a bellhop hat (an old callback to this attraction's origins, the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror)
- the Golden Apples of Idunn
- Peter Quill's Walkman (hint: it's in the pre-show and if you see it, keep your eyes on it)
- the yeti from the Matterhorn Bobsleds
Good luck on your scavenger hunt! You'll be visiting during my favorite time of year, the Halloween Season! One thing to note is that there is a Halloween overlay that transforms Mission BREAKOUT! into Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark after 3 p.m., so plan accordingly if you would like to experience the original queue.
Jennifer, I hope that this was helpful for you and I sympathize with you about not being to handle the drops. As I've gotten older, I've had more issues with motion sickness, so as much as I love everything about the Disney Parks, there are attractions that I just cannot ride anymore. Like Rocket, I just think "there ain't no thing like me, 'cept me!" I hope you have a wonderfully spooky and magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! If you need anything else from us, please write back again! You're always welcome at planDisney!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
