We have heard that a great place to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks is from the Contemporary Resort. Do you need to book restaurant reservations at the Contemporary in order to see the fireworks, or can anyone walk in and do this?

    Hi Larry,

Watching a spectacular fireworks display is the perfect way to end a magical day at the Walt Disney World Resort, and Happily Ever After is my very favorite of the nighttime shows!

I'm happy to let you know that anyone may visit Disney's Contemporary Resort and enjoy the fireworks display. The iconic monorail drops you off right in the middle of the Resort hotel, or if you're driving your own vehicle, you may simply tell the Cast Member at the entrance gate that you're touring the Resort and watching the fireworks, then you'll be guided to short-term parking where you'll be entitled to up to three hours of complimentary parking. My family just did this a couple of weeks ago! Once you arrive, you'll want to go to level 4 where there is an outdoor patio that offers views of Magic Kingdom Park and the fireworks display. Some people also like to stand along the walkway that connects this Resort hotel with Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. My favorite part about watching the fireworks from here is that the moving music from Happily Ever After will be piped in. While you won't be close enough to view the projections on Cinderella Castle, you'll still get to experience the incredible fireworks display! That, combined with the music, still gives me chills!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Larry, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
