Hi! I heard that Ghirardelli has an 'Earthquake' sundae to rival Beaches & Cream's 'Kitchen Sink'. Has anyone tried both? I've never tried either (shame on me).

Oh, Rochelle!  I didn't get to be Pooh Sized eating carrot sticks!  Of course I can compare the Kitchen Sink Sundae and the Earthquake Sundae!  And I am hoping not to mess up my keyboard with the drooling while I do compare these two enormous ice cream treats!

The Kitchen Sink, which is served at Beaches and Cream, is eight scoops of ice cream, a generous helping of every ice cream topping in the house (including brownies and angel food cake), and then the whole thing is topped with an entire can of cream.  Yep, the whole can. But that's not all - it's served in a kitchen sink, with loads of fan fare!

The Earthquake is more of a banana split on steroids.  You get eight scoops of ice cream, eight toppings, sliced bananas, chopped almonds, chocolate chips, and cream.  There's a cherry or two thrown in there, too!

Both are meant to be shared, and both are exceedingly rich and delicious.  I like to kid myself that the Earthquake is a healthy treat, what with all that fresh banana in there; but I can fool myself into opting for the Kitchen Sink with that super light Angel Food Cake, which has to be good for my diet, right?

You can't go wrong as a crowd pleaser with either of these incredible ice cream creations!
