I've heard that Downtown Disney is walkable from certain areas of Saratoga Springs, but is it really walkable for an active 5-year-old? She's really a very good walker, but I want to be realistic. Or should we aim to be close to the main pool instead?

Hi, Jillian!  The walk from the closest part of Saratoga Springs to the Downtown Disney area is about 15 minutes long.  I've done the walk with my girls starting from when the youngest was about three, and I will tell you that how "do-able" it is really has a lot to do with how hot it is.

We've never had any trouble at all with our girls on the walk when the weather has been comfortable, but we can only get about five minutes in on a hot day before the kids (and the husband) start complaining.  The walk will still take the same amount of time, but with way more noise!

If it were me, I'd definitely request a closer proximity to the Carriage House with closer pool access.  We spend more time at the pool or grabbing a quick bite to eat than we do walking to Downtown Disney.

I hope you have an awesome vacation!
