I had heard that there were Disney vacation planners available to help you plan your trip to the parks in detail but don’t see that anywhere.

    Welcome to planDisney, Andrea!

One of the best parts of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is dreaming up all the magic you will have! It sounds like you would like to have some help planning your magical vacation, so let me offer some advice.

My guess is that you are looking for an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. These specialized travel agents have undergone education from Disney Parks and range from concierge-level to more basic services. You can also do an online search for “Authorized Disney Vacation Planner," check some of the various online Walt Disney World forums, or ask friends for recommendations. I encourage you to find one who has personal Disney Parks experience from which to draw as they assist you in planning a great vacation.

One thing to be aware of is that an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner should not charge you for their services as it directly relates to planning your Disney vacation. And it is important to know that Disney Vacation Planners have the same access to hotel and dining reservations that you or a member of the Disney Resort Hotels Reservation team have. Also, be mindful that there are aspects of your vacation that only your Disney Vacation Planner will be able to modify if needed or if you change your mind about your plans.

Andrea, of course, there is an option to contact a Walt Disney World Resort Reservations Cast Member and discuss your vacation planning. Again, there is no cost to you to utilize their services. I have found these Cast Members to be extremely helpful in planning my Walt Disney World Resort vacations.

While you are looking for the perfect planner to assist you, peruse the Walt Disney World Resort website, the planDisney Extras page, or listen to the planDisney podcast.  You can get an idea of which of the Disney Resorts Collection Hotel would best suit your family and discover which dining locations and park attractions will be on your family’s must-do list. And don’t forget, there are many Enchanted Extras Collection activities that your vacation planner could book for you. Once you have some ideas of what you hope to experience, your vacation planner will be better equipped to help plan the magical vacation of your dreams.

My top tip for visiting October is to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party featuring special fireworks, a unique parade, and special entertainment. I love how the Characters are dressed in their finest Halloween attire! This special-ticketed event is one of my favorites.

I hope this information is helpful, Andrea. If you have other questions or would like more tips as you plan, you can always write back to us here at planDisney.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
