I've heard conflicting information so wanted to ask: does Figment, Buzz Lightyear, or any of the Star Wars characters sign autographs? Thanks!

    Hi Laurie,

I am so excited that you plan on enjoying the character experiences on your upcoming Disney World vacation. I love interacting with each of the characters because they are so fun and unique. As you mentioned, some of the characters have not learned how to sign their names yet or do not provide signatures. All of them will pose for fabulous photos with you and engage in super fun banter with your family. Most of the characters can sign anything you bring but you have identified the exceptions to this rule.

Buzz Lightyear was not signing autographs the last time I visited, but sometimes he has a stamp available for his handler to use on your autograph book. Figment is also still learning how to write his name so he does not provide signatures as well. The Star Wars characters in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge also do not sign autographs because they are typically moving quickly from one mission to the next. They may simply stop to say hi or interact with guests as they move through an area. If you head over to Star Wars Launch Bay, the characters there are normally willing to sign an autograph for you.

If you love meeting characters, I highly recommend booking a Character Dining Experience while you are at Disney World. I love Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT because it is small and lends itself to longer character interactions and lots of great photographs. It is also a unique restaurant that rotates through the Living With the Land attraction for some excellent views while you dine.

The quickest and easiest way to find your favorite Disney friends while at the theme parks is by using the map feature in the My Disney Experience app. While in the map feature, filter for "Characters" at the top center and you will see a map of where all current characters are located throughout the theme parks. I like to think of it as a character treasure hunt!

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
