I have heard that Captain Jack Sparrow makes appereances on the Disney Dream & Castaway Cay, is there a way to reserve time with him? Or can you give me any hints as to where to find him for my 6 year old? My son LOVES him!!

Welcome back, Becky! Meeting Disney characters onboard the Disney cruise ships is one of my kids' favorite things to do! Your son will be so happy to know that Captain Jack can usually be found around the ship and at Castaway Cay to meet with guests and pose for photographs.

Characters are always subject to change and can vary by sailing, but in my personal experience, we've always found Captain Jack to be onboard and at Castaway Cay, no matter which ship we were on. Hopefully he'll be there for your cruise too. The best way to find him is to look at your Personal Navigator. Each evening, you'll receive a Navigator for the next day listing all of the events, activities and character greetings. One entire line of the Navigator's schedule is dedicated to character greetings, so keep an eye out for Captain Jack's name to appear there. Normally his onboard meet and greet is on Pirate Night. The line for him can get very long, so I'd suggest showing up to the location where he is to meet about half an hour before the scheduled time. There may already be a line at that point, but go ahead and wait in line then so you don't find an even longer line later!

If you see his name on the character appearance schedule in the Navigator for Castaway Cay, be sure to swing by that location a bit ahead of time too, as this spot makes for a beautiful backdrop to your photo with him! He's so fun to meet, as he usually takes the time to comment on something the kids are wearing and tie it in to pirate fun. So, be sure to pack some pirate gear and costumes for your son, as he'll want those to wear on Pirate Night anyway!

Have fun planning, Becky! It's almost time to set sail!
