Welcome aboard, Jana! My family and I love the ports of call that Disney visits in cruises to the Western Caribbean.
I checked out the scuba Port Adventures in those ports, and unfortunately, they are all listed as ages 12 and up. These age guidelines are very strict. However, I do have a few suggestions for you!
First of all, did you know that the boys are welcome to stay onboard in the Oceaneer Club and Lab while you head off for a few hours for your own Port Adventure with your husband? The boys get checked in with the awesome counselors there for hours of fun and entertainment while the two of you could head off to scuba, then come back and bring the boys off to do a bit more exploring in port if you have time! Since you're on a seven night voyage, you'll still have plenty of other Port Adventure opportunities together.
Alternately, have you tried snuba or helmet dives? While different, both are great combos between scuba and snorkeling. I tried snuba, after a bit of hesitation, because I'm not one that would try scuba diving, and found that it was really fun and easy! My kids adored this snuba experience! There are a handful of adventures that start at age eight, which is perfect for your family. Check out the
Blue Water Sea Trek Helmet Dive adventure in Cozumel or the
Sea Trek Helmet Dive in Grand Cayman. If you want to check out snuba, try the
Shipwreck Snuba in Grand Cayman or the
Snuba Cozumel or Key West Snuba adventure.
I hope those suggestions help, Jana!
