Heading to WDW 6/13 and our travel agent sugg. POR FQ. She said their rooms were just recently redone. Is this true? How about travel time to other parks etc. Is there a mod. resort that is best for travel time? Kids will be 13 & 8 so good pool too

Hi Julie! Your travel agent is right - the rooms at Port Orleans have indeed been renovated! We stayed there in February and it's my favourite moderate resort. The rooms have super comfy queen-sized beds and are lovely. Given the ages of your children, I would definitely stay at either Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside. They might prefer the pool area at Riverside, as has a bit more for their age. A perk of staying at either is that you can use the facilities, including the pool area, at either resort. Another perk of Port Orleans is the boat ride down the Sassagoula River to Downtown Disney.

It will take you about 15 minutes to the Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom, 25 minutes to the Animal Kingdom and 20 to Epcot, similar to the other moderate resorts.

Write back with any other questions Julie!
