we are heading to WDW thanksgiving week, which resort would be better to stay in, fort wilderness cabins or one of the all-star resorts? what are the pro and cons of each

Hi, John!  I think which resort would be best for your family, but I can give you some of the benefits of each of them.

The Fort Wilderness cabins will accommodate a party of up to six people.  The cabins have a full kitchen, so if you want to prepare some of your meals at your resort,  you can do that with the complete kitchen and all the utensils, cookware, and dishes.  There is a bit more space to relax and spread out, and you can enjoy sitting out on your deck or cooking outside on the grill.

The Fort Wilderness resort area is home to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, a very popular dinner show, as well as Mickey's Backyard BBQ, a sesonal offering that features characters singing and dancing.  You'll also find horseback riding, bikes, canoes, kayaks, and many other activities.  The Meadow Swimming Pool has a themed water slide and a great kids play area.

The All Star resorts are a little less remotely located, and if you are looking for more of a hotel feeling, you'll find it here.  The resort has a food court, where you can get a quick breakfast in the morning, a nice lunch or dinner, or even a fast snack or drink.  The pools here are themed to the resort, and you will find each resort filled with giant icons that you can wander around an enjoy.  The downside may be that the resorts share buses,  so you may find the buses get filled more quickly, but for the most part, it's nothing more than a minor inconvenience, as there is always another bus on it's way!

I hope this helps you to decide!  Thanksgiving is a great time to be at Walt Disney World!
