We are heading to WDW in one week. We are traveling with 2 adults and 2 children, ages 3 and 8 mo. What time do we need to be pulling into the parking lots if we want to be in the park for "rope drop"? I am most worried about Magic Kingdom.

    Hi Kelly,

You're only a few days away from your visit to the most magical place on earth! I hope that you're getting so excited! You and your family are going to have a BLAST!

My family is a "rope drop" family, too, meaning that we love to be at the theme parks when they first open. When you park your vehicle at Magic Kingdom Park, you'll first take a tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center, then either a boat or monorail over to Magic Kingdom Park. Factoring in some time to also go through security and ticketing, I'd say that if you arrive at the parking lot at least one hour before Magic Kingdom Park opens, you should be all set and ready to go for your day of magic and fun! While the official kick-off for the day begins with the memorable Let the Magic Begin welcome show, you'll likely be so excited to be at the most magical place on earth that even the tram ride, your monorail or boat ride into Magic Kingdom Park, and the first time you set foot on Main Street U.S.A. will be full of wonder and awe. It's simple moments like these combined with all of the amazing attractions and experiences you'll enjoy that make a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort so special.

Thanks for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kelly, and please let us know if we can help with anything else. I hope that you enjoy experiencing the magic with and through your Mouseketeers and have a truly amazing visit!
