We are heading to WDW nesxt mo. for our son's 7th Bday. What character dinning exp. do you recomend? We've been to Crystal Palace, Chef's Mickey, & Donald's Safari. Cinderella's castle doesn't interest the boys... we want to exp. new places. Thanks

    Hi Tina,

What a fabulous Birthday treat for your son I bet he's going to have a great time :-)

I'm assuming as your son doesn't want to eat in the Castle that he also wouldn't enjoy Akershus with the Princesses in Epcot and at 7 years old is probably too old for the Playhouse Disney meal at Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios. This only leaves a few more character meals for you to try!

I'm not sure which characters your son likes but we've had some great meals at the Garden Grill in Epcot, this restaurant slowly rotates through part of The Land ride and the characters are normally Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale. We've always found the food here to be very good and the character interaction fantastic. You can only dine here for dinner and the food is almost like a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner with turkey, steak, fish, vegetables, potatoes and cornbread, there is also a childs menu which includes chicken tenders and fries.

Another great experience is the 'Ohana Character breakfast at the Polynesian resort, here you can dine on eggs, sausage, Mickey waffles etc and the characters present are normally Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch. We like to book a late breakfast so we can get to the Magic Kingdom for opening, ride our favourite attractions before catching the monorail over to eat.

I hope that helps and you have a lovely trip,

    Jo
