Hello! We are heading to WDW in June. I hear that Star Wars Weekends have been discontinued in advance of the expansion of the entire Star Wars area at Hollywood Studios. What my girls want to know is: can we meet Princess Leia? Thanks, Moms!

    Hi Michelle!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World (WDW)! My kids are also going crazy over Star Wars and are talking non-stop about who they can meet from Star Wars and what they can do that's Star Wars themed on our next trip.

You are right that Princess Leia was available to meet during Star Wars weekends, which are no longer occurring. However, characters are always subject to change and there are surprise character greetings all the time. When you visit WDW, ask a Cast Member (CM) to call the Character Hotline to find out if Princess Leia will be available on the date that you visit. The CM will make a call and find out for you!

I definitely suggest visiting Hollywood Studios if your kids are Star Wars fans, as they can ride Star Tours, Also, kids ages 4-12 can register to participate in the Star Wars Jedi Training. Your young padawans may enjoy this experience!

There are also tons of Star Wars photo opportunities, shops and cool stuff throughout the park.

I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
