We are heading to wdw in a few weeks. I can't remember which finger I use with my magic band when entering the parks. We are rope droppers and I don't want to hold my family up! Is there a way to figure this out before we get there?

    Hey there, Rebecca!

Welcome back to planDisney - we're delighted you've returned with another great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. It looks like you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth next month - the countdown is on, Rebecca! As your vacation draws near, let's ensure you're prepared for a seamless theme park entry experience.

When Guests enter the theme parks, they'll typically scan their theme park admission media at the touch point and then verify their identification by scanning a fingerprint. It sounds like you don't remember which finger you scanned for theme park entry previously, but hakuna matata, Rebecca. (It means "no worries!") Unfortunately, there is no way to "look up" what finger you've scanned previously. However, you have two options in this case:
    • You may opt to show photo identification to the Cast Member at the touch point instead of scanning a fingerprint for identification verification. To opt out of fingerprint scanning, you'll need to stop by a theme park ticket booth before you head to the parks.
    • You may utilize "trial and error" at the touch point to identify which finger was used originally. After checking in with a friendly Cast Member, I was informed that almost all Guests use an index finger for verification at the touch point, so I'd start there!
Rebecca, I understand that you're hoping to maximize your time at the theme parks. My family loves to "rope drop," too! We always choose to stay at Disney Resort hotels in order to take advantage of the early theme park entry benefit. Be sure to look into transportation availability and times so you can arrive at the theme parks early and make the most of those 30 minutes! Guests staying at Deluxe Resort hotels, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select hotels can also enjoy extended evening hours on select nights. If you'll be staying at an eligible resort, be sure to check the Hours & Events Calendar for extended evening hours availability. By combining these theme park entry hours, Guests can experience all that the parks have to offer from dawn to dusk!

I hope this information helps you as you continue to count down the days until your unforgettable Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Rebecca. If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to revisit us at planDisney anytime! We're here to help you optimize your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth.

    See ya real soon,
