Hi George,
Wow, I just LOVE hearing about generous people sharing the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
I'm happy to let you know that yes, you should be able to use the
tickets that your friend gifted you, however, there are a few things to consider. First, have they been used at all? If your friend used even one day on them, they are no longer transferable. Next, are the tickets expired? If they are really old and don't have an expiration date or if they were purchased after 2004 and have the No Expiration option added, you're good to go. If they do have an expiration date, and that has passed, you'll still be able to get some value from them, but you'll need to pay the difference between their value and their current cost. Lastly, have they already been connected digitally to your friend's My Disney Experience account? If not, then no worries. You'll be able to
connect them to your My Disney Experience account. Depending on how old they are, you may need to wait until you arrive at "The Most Magical Place on Earth" to do so, though. If they are connected to her account, as long as they're unused and not expired, your friend will be able to
transfer them to your account by clicking "Reassign Ticket." You'll just need to make sure you are connected via the
Family & Friends list so she can find you. If you need any assistance along the way, definitely feel free to
contact a Cast Member and he or she would be happy to help you!
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, George, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation and are able to put those old tickets to great use!
Missy
