HI! Heading to WDW Dec 7-17 2011, staying at POP, have DDP & 8 day base tix. DD"s 5th bday is the 9th, we'll be in MK that day, chef mickey's for breakfast, 1900 parkfaire for lunch. how can we plan out the wk to fit it all in & maximize our D

    Brandi,

You are certainly planning well ahead of time!

I find that the best way to plan is to get an idea for how many days you want at each park, then plan out individual days. Do it with an idea for how you would ideally want them ordered.

Then, a bit more than 6 months out (when you are ready to start making Advanced Dining Reservations), look at your schedule and see if they fit the schedule of Extra Magic Hours to maximize your time. With a 5-year old I would not worry about using every one available, as that is more time than she is probably capable of being up early or out late for, but still taking advantage of a few at that time of year would certainly be nice.

As for your special day on the 9th, be sure that the night before is one when you turn in early. No fireworks, no late nights out. Get to bed early so that she is fully charged for her big day.

Also remember to not overplan. Being at Walt Disney World is special on it's own. Too many 'extras' will just get lost in the mix of fun.

    Have a magical vacation!
