Welcome back to planDisney, Jennifer! Magic Mirror on the wall… let’s help make your dining experience the fairest of them all!
I’m so excited you’re planning to try
Story Book Dining at Artist Point at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge with your daughter and her friend! I dined there recently after completing the Dopey Challenge, and let me tell you, the character interactions were unforgettable. While I was there to see Dopey, it was Grumpy who completely stole our hearts! The theming is equally magical, with tree branches and leaves sprouting from the ceiling. After dark, the lighting shifts colors and transforms the entire space into an enchanted forest.
The menu is just as creative, with beautiful presentations and a prix fixe meal format that includes shared appetizers and desserts, plus your choice of individual entrée. As a self-proclaimed picky eater myself, I can relate to your concerns! I ended up ordering the market fish (salmon with white wine risotto), which was very good, but the real standout for me was the Mushroom Bisque from the appetizer round. It’s worth trying!
While it’s never guaranteed, there’s a good chance your 19-year-old and her friend will be able to order from the children’s menu. Cast Members at table-service restaurants often do their best to accommodate requests like this, especially for selective eaters. When you arrive, I recommend politely asking your server if it’s possible. In many cases, they can provide an adult-sized portion of a kids’ menu item such as grilled chicken, steak, chicken tenders, or mac and cheese. Just keep in mind that even with a modified meal, you’ll still be charged the adult prix fixe rate.
And after your meal, be sure to strike a pose with the Evil Queen herself! At 19, your daughter may not be as easily intimidated by her icy glare, but it still makes for a fabulous photo op.
Wishing you a storybook evening, Jennifer! See ya real soon!
