Welcome aboard, Paula! I'm so glad you stopped by.
You mentioned doing
Port Adventures on Castaway Cay instead of in Nassau. I actually would recommend the exact opposite, if you'll only booking one Port Adventure, unless, of course you see a must-do adventure on Castaway Cay. When you arrive at Disney's Private Island, Castaway Cay
, there is so much already included on the island that you can walk right off the ship and stay as busy or as relaxed as you'd like the entire day and still not see or do it all! With Pelican Plunge water slides, the Teen Hideaway for your girls, character dance parties, crab races, a family whale dig at Monstro Point, and of course the gorgeous Family Beach, and lunch at Cookies BBQ, all included, you don't need to spend an extra cent to have an amazing day.
Now, that being said, there are some great adventures there like snorkeling (or save money and bring your own snorkel gear from home, like my family does, then it's no charge!), bike rentals (we LOVE exploring the island on bike), and other options like my favorite Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. Your girls may want to join other teens for the
Wild Side Teen Adventure. I hear it's awesome!
In Nassau, unless you'd like to do a bit of shopping a few blocks from the port area on your own, there won't be much to do without booking an adventure. I recommend the Nassau Port Adventures to Atlantis Resort, or Blue Lagoon. Or, simply do a bit of shopping and then enjoy a less crowded pool deck back onboard that day!
Stop back with any other questions, Paula!
