We are heading to MK on December 4th which is the same day ABC will be taping its Christmas Day Parade. Has anyone been at MK during the taping and how crowded is the park?

    Hi Chad,

How fun to be there during the Christmas parade taping. Yes, actually I was there the last two years on parade taping days and visited the Magic Kingdom. Last year, we were even in the masses of the Jonas Borthers taping outside Cinderella Castle. The park has tended to be a little more crowded, however you will be happy to hear that we found  minimal lines and wait times on the attractions. Most of the crowd that is at the park was there to take part in, or watch the parade taping and did not seem to be enjoying most of the shows and attractions.

The Main Street area does tend to be congested and portions of the street are often roped off for the taping, so you may find yourself guided along a different walkway or path, but once past the Main STreet hub you should find the remainder of the park is generally unaffected by the activity up front. Of course, taping plans are always subject to change and depend on the weather so things could alter from previous years, but I think you will still have a great time and may even be lucky enough to catch some sneak peeks of the Christmas morning parade.

    Have a great time!
