We are heading on our first Disney Bahamas cruise in November. We have 3 boys (10, 8, 7). Do we need an activity for Nassau Port, or should we just wing it with a day at the beach/walk around the town?

    Welcome aboard, Jaclyn!

Congratulations on booking your very first sailing with Disney Cruise Line! November is a fabulous time to set sail with Disney. The last few Novembers, my family and I have enjoyed magical adventures on the high seas with Disney Cruise Line and simply loved escaping the chilly weather back home at that time of year to head south for the warm waters of the Bahamas. You're in for such a treat!

There are some really wonderful adventures available in Nassau, so I do highly recommend that you book one of Disney Cruise Line's Port Adventures there. The other option is to head off the ship on your own and do a bit of shopping in the town, but if your young boys are like my son, that doesn't sound too high on the priority list. But, a magical and exciting adventure is much more up his alley! The closest public beach in Nassau is Junkanoo Beach, but you'd have to rent everything there from chairs to umbrellas and it's just not the family kind of beach that I'd recommend, especially when you have Castaway Cay on your agenda, the best beach in the Caribbean!

Any of the Port Adventures that visits Blue Lagoon Island or the Atlantis Resort are wonderful. My family and I have enjoyed so much time at both of those spots with Disney, so I can give you two thumbs up on all of those adventures! Check out what is offered and see if any sound perfect for you and your boys. On Castaway Cay, no need to book an adventure, (unless you see an absolute must-do!) because so much activity is already included in the day there, no additional cost! So, if you're only up for one Port Adventure on your cruise, book it in Nassau for sure!

Have fun planning, Jaclyn, and please stop back if we can help with any other questions before you set sail!
